I Can’t Stand The Rain

San Francisco Producer/DJ Russ Rich & Singer-Songwriter Debby Holiday team up for a modern-day dance take on the 1974 Ann Peebles Memphis Soul classic, “I Can’t Stand The Rain,” also made famous by such luminaries as Tina Turner, disco-funk band Eruption, and Lowell George.

Holiday’s vocal is powerful and gritty. And following the two original mixes by Russ Rich & Andy Allder, taking the project into Funky Disco House (120 BPM) as well as big room Piano House (126), a fantastic set of remixes is now available. The Disko Katz presents a huge, horn-laden, sexy baseline-driven Disco Mix perfect for Peak Time to Pool Time. The Dirty Disco & Matt Consola Remix & Dub are Peak Tech House meets Mainstream House, with a sext driving baseline and a darker yet still energetic feel than we are used to hearing from the two. Larry Peace creates a Funky Disco House Mix that has complex layers and overtones of Slyvester / Patrick Cowley, while Stephen Jusko goes full-blown Big Room House, perfect for any peak time play or circuit party. Stephen Jusko gives us Big Room energy by turning the dial to “Eleven” complete with heavy percussion, swirling synths, and cutting stabs. How Long (Has This Been Going On)

Amazing things can happen when friends get together.

San Francisco Bay Area House Music pioneer BB Hayes and Smash Mouth‘s Greg Camp team up for a club reimagining of the Paul Carrack pend 1974 classic rock mega-hit “How Long”  by British rock band ACE.

Greg Camp is the Grammy Award-nominated lead guitarist and lead songwriter with the American rock band Smash Mouth who received his first nomination for the #1 hit “All Star,” and had chart-topping, iconic hits including “Walking on The Sun,” “Then The Morning Comes” and a cover of The Monkees’ “I’m a Believer” for the Shrek soundtrack.

Long-time friends, both hailing from San Jose, CA, BB & Greg have always wanted to work together, looking for that right project. “How Long” became that project. Greg put his spin on guitar and keyboards while still honoring the original Paul Carrack feel. Then BB enlisted the help of other close friends to round out this project. Another long-time friend, British singer Jemma Jones, was brought in to lay down a sultry yet powerful take on the iconic vocals. San Francisco DJ/producer Henry Navarro stepped in to lay down live bass, while Grammy Nominated producer and mentor Jay-J added the final mix-down and mastering touches.

Released on the San Francisco-based, multi-Billboard Dance #1 dance label, Swishcraft Music, “How Long” will be released with a strong curated selection of House, Nu-Disco, Funky House, and Big Room Tech House Remixes featuring Rob Moore, Lucius Lowe, Larry Peace, 2BT3K, and Rhyzen Shyne.

France Joli – Fallin’ (Radio Edits)

Remixes by: Block & Crown, Tony Moran, Dirty Disco & Matt Consola, Macau, Brian Cua, Elof de Neve, Stephen Jusko, Disco Pirates, and Kenny Kruze.

On July 7, 1979, an unknown, 16-year-old French Canadian female vocalist named France Joli performed her new single “Come to Me” for the first time before a throng of 5,000 on Fire Island at a benefit now infamously known as Beach ’79.

Joli left the stage a star, becoming a media darling who appeared in all the popular entertainment publications and on all the hot TV shows of the day. “Come to Me” became a smash hit that sold three million copies globally, rose to number one on disco charts around the world including the Billboard Disco Chart, and reached number 15 on Billboard’s pop chart. Befitting this fairytale, Joli portrayed Cinderella in the 1980 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. She also performed at all the landmark Manhattan dance venues of the day, including Studio 54, Bond, and The Saint.

Joli still performs “Come to Me” and subsequent hits such as “Gonna Get Over You,” “The Heart to Break the Heart,” and “Feel Like Dancing” on the dance music circuit throughout the world playing to packed houses. Joli’s more recent performance schedule has included stops in Mexico City, New York, New Orleans, Miami, Los Angeles, and Palm Springs, where she performed at both Jeffrey Sanker’s The White Party and Evening Under the Stars with the First Ladies of Disco, a historic benefit that united 12 disco greats on one stage for the first time ever. She has also spent years on Broadway and off-Broadway in shows that include Anthony J. Wilkinson’s smash hits “My Big Gay Italian Wedding” and its sequel “My Big Gay Italian Funeral,” “First Legends of Disco,” and the Broadway musical Disaster! at the Nederlander Theatre.

With several original and cover hit singles released between 2012 & 2021, Joli returns in 2022 with the brand new club single, “Fallin'” which she co-wrote and co-produced for Swishcraft Music. Already supported by KGAY 106.5 FM (Palm Springs) and CueTheMusic.online, “Fallin'” will make its live debut Saturday, June 4th at Chill Bar Palm Springs where Joli will take part in the hit traveling club Dirty Disco w/ Matt Consola where she will perform her mega-hits “Gonna Get Over You” and “Come To Me” before debuting “Fallin’.” A full set of club remixes by International greats will include Block & Crown, Tony Moran, Dirty Disco & Matt Consola, Macau, Brian Cua, Elof de Neve, Stephen Jusko, Disco Pirates, and Kenny Kruze.
